Enrol through CQU and fly in Townsville or Cairns with National Aviation Academy!

Aspiring pilots at CQU are now be able to complete their Bachelor of Aviation flight training with National Aviation Academy. We are passionate about developing this degree and we look forward to offering students at CQU the benefits of training in Townsville or Cairns.

Why Us?

At National Aviation Academy, we pride ourselves on minimising delays as you complete your pilot licences. We are excited to introduce what NAA has to offer for students and the lifestyle that Far North Queensland holds.

Our facilities and people in both bases are second to none. As neighbours to Townsville Airport, we enjoy exclusive use of our huge modern hangar with direct access to our own taxiway. For our students, this means there is no time wasted waiting for clearances, puttering around the GA apron or run-up areas, crossing parallel runways, transiting to/from the training area or waiting for others to pass by. Be impressed with our brand new classroom and student study areas, modern FRASCA RTD, outdoor dining, food trucks, ample secure parking plus on-site maintenance which allows students to further their studies and ask questions to our engineers who are here all day everyday!

We have a large, modern fleet of aircraft and every single instructor has extensive charter and training experience. Get out of the capital city flight training bubble and learn how to fly in the real world while networking with charter operators and gaining valuable wet season experience. Our graduates are renowned across the top end for being hard working, efficient and demonstrating a can-do attitude that we instill every day during your training. Selected students will be offered work experience/ICUS hours with our sister company, ZephAir Aircraft Charters.

We are down to earth, our flight training is not.

Aviatrix: Supporting Women in Aviation

For the ladies, National Aviation Academy's sister brand, Aviatrix Australia was created after research showed that women's participation in the aviation sector is low across the globe, with just over 7% of certified civilian pilots being females. National Aviation Academy and Aviatrix Australia are very passionate about increasing that percentage and we will support women to achieve their potential in the aviation industry.

Creating this supportive community is super important to us and we would love to have you join our Aviatrix crew. The sky needs more bright female aviators and we believe CQU students can truly help us make a difference!

Live & Learn - Life in Townsville....

With 320 days a year of beautiful blue skies, we enjoy the most spectacular area in Australia to live and learn in. Students can clear their mind, unwind, relax with an ongoing list of sights to see in the region that are right in our backyard, such as the Whitsundays, Magnetic Island, 5,000 foot mountains, the Atherton Tablelands, dense rainforest, rugged outback and cascading waterfalls. Townsville has it all to tick off your dream lifestyle. Just ask our students who recently got back from our 3 day CPL hour building fly-away through Queensland's back country.

Take the stress of studies away with social events. We ensure that becoming a pilot at NAA is as constructive and valuable as well as enjoyable, fun and flexible. We offer an abundance of extra activities to our staff and students, including Friday afternoon BBQ’s, Control Tower visits, tickets to sponsored events including outback races and the V8 Supercars.
